One night last week, Quality Control Field Supervisor Philip Brooks didn’t hesitate to help in any way he could when he witnessed a crash involving a Pepsi semi-truck and a car while we were paving westbound on I-26.
The semi caught fire, and Philip grabbed a fire extinguisher from the coring trailer and rushed to the scene. Thankfully, the driver was able to get out and extinguish the fire. No one was injured.
Not only did Philip ensure that everyone involved in the crash was okay, but he also directed emergency vehicles to clear a path for a woman in labor.
Banks wants to highlight and thank Philip for his heroism that night. He truly lived out our Core Value of Safety by making sure that everyone on the job site—whether our team or the traveling public—was in a safe environment. Thank you, Philip!
