Main Rd. Corridor Segment A Groundbreaking

On, September 26th, Charleston County celebrated the successful groundbreaking of the Main Rd. Corridor I Segment A Project.

Among the attendees were representatives from Charleston County, Archer Western, United Infrastructure Group, and Banks Construction, who were present to officially break ground on this long-awaited addition to the community here in the Lowcountry.

The design-build contract was awarded to the Archer-United-Banks Joint Venture on September 10th of this year, and the project is expected to be completed within four years of commencement.

After the groundbreaking, Banks Construction’s VP of Project Management Operations Greg Cook shared the team’s excitement for being a part of this important community project:

“Banks Construction is super excited to land, once again, the biggest project that we have ever had. Banks is part of a tri-venture with Archer Western and United Infrastructure Group, and together we will be tackling a 350 million dollar project for Charleston County. We had the kick-off meeting this week and we had a groundbreaking this morning. It’s going to be a great project for the residents of Johns Island and all of the people that live on Kiawah, and it’s really going to change people’s lives. We are looking forward to working with everybody and being a team and kind of getting the band back together because a lot of us have worked together before, so it should be a great project for everybody involved, and we’re really excited to get started.”
