The widening of Bacons Bridge Road was an extremely important project to the infrastructure of Dorchester County.
Four-year project spanned nearly 4 miles of SC 165 (Bacons Bridge Road) from Old Trolley Road to Highway 61.
The scope of work included widening this section of roadway to four lanes along with the construction of two new bridges over the Ashley River and Sawmill Branch Creek.
Major items of work performed on this project included 347,000 CY of earthwork, nearly 90,000 tons of asphalt paving, and over 23,000 LF of storm drainage improvements.
