This was a 2018 Charleston County resurfacing contract administered through the Charleston County Transportation Committee.
There were a total of 73 roads on the contract throughout West Ashley, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant.
The project scope involved removing and replacing concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and pedestrian ramps, 4” Full Depth Patching, milling, and surface course paving.
Approximately 23,000 tons of Warm-Mix Asphalt were placed on the project.
Warm-Mix Asphalt allows for lower temperatures during production and placement, which results in lower emissions and fewer greenhouse gases. This makes Warm-Mix Asphalt more environmentally friendly without hindering product quality.
