On October 29, Banks Construction was honored to be part of the State of the Port presented by The Propeller Club of Charleston. Keynote speaker, President and CEO of South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA), Jim Newsome, addressed some 700 customers, affiliates and elected officials in attendance. President Newsome spoke to the record-breaking growth the SCPA has seen over the last ten years and to long term planning reaching out to 2035. He stressed the importance of state infrastructure and how it will affect future plans, not only for Charleston, but the state as a whole. He mentioned that one of every eleven jobs in Charleston are affiliated with the port. We are proud to be part of the growing economy, and look forward to continued partnership with the South Carolina Ports Authority.
