Volunteering with SCDNR SCORE PROGRAM

Last week, our Banks Construction team had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) as part of their SCORE Program. We had a fantastic time and successfully completed 28 manufactured wire reefs that day!

The SCORE Program is dedicated to restoring and enhancing oyster habitats, which play a vital role in South Carolina’s environment and economy. Oysters are essential for improving water quality, controlling erosion, and providing habitats for other valuable shellfish and fish species. However, with declining oyster populations, initiatives like SCORE are more important than ever.

Huge thanks to Cole, Art, Nick, Sam, and Aidan from the SCORE Program for giving us this opportunity! We enjoyed every minute of it.

Participating Banks Team Members:
Jerrad Heppler, Lee Murray, Graham Drawdy, Aaron Sheppard, Debbie Ritter, Krissy Sterchi, Kayla Roberson, Roxy Clark, Logan Boggs, and Tyler Fuquay.

SCDNR Team Members:
Cole and Art.
