VOLUNTEERING WITH SCORE & SCDNR

Last Wednesday, some of our Banks team volunteered alongside Casual Crabbing with Tia in support of the community-based habitat restoration and monitoring SCORE Program, and SCDNR.

We helped build MWRs (Manufactured Wired Reefs), RCTs (Recycled Crab Traps), and bagging Recycled Oyster Shells. All with the purpose of helping to restore and enhance oyster habitats. These oysters improve water quality, control erosion, and provide habitat for other shellfish and fish species as well.

We had a great time learning more about how important these habitats are for us here in SC, and we can’t wait to do it again!
